Quiet your inner critic.
Anxiety therapy in San Diego, California
Do you have an inner critic that dictates how you should feel, think, or behave?
You’ve found yourself feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and worried.
You get frustrated with yourself when you start to feel anxious and any attempt you make to get rid of it just makes it worse. You often talk to yourself with cruel, harsh words and have noticed that it is impacting your confidence and mood.
When it comes to your dating life, you find yourself highlighting all the reasons why you aren’t good enough and feel paralyzing fear that you will be rejected or dumped. You have found that you often neglect your own needs in order to ensure that your partner likes you.
You bend over backwards to meet the needs of everyone in your life and often neglect the things that are important to you in the process. You are always there to listen to your loved ones when they need support, but often feel like you are being annoying when you are the one who needs support.
Sound like you?

You wish you could just turn off your brain sometimes
Here’s what we’ll do together
Therapy can help you learn that your thoughts don’t have to dictate your life.
I am here to guide you through the process of finally managing your anxiety. We will identify helpful ways to change the way you talk to yourself in order to improve your mood, and improve your confidence. We will go deeper and explore the meaning behind the messages you tell yourself, and the reason why setting boundaries has been uncomfortable.
In the moments where you catch yourself listening to those negative thoughts, I’ll be there to remind you of the amazing parts of yourself. We will incorporate mindfulness, breathing exercises, and grounding techniques to help you regulate your body and reduce the impact that anxiety has on your body throughout the day.
We will discuss the values and beliefs that are important to you in your romantic and platonic relationships, and find ways to ensure you continue to incorporate them instead of putting them aside to gain acceptance.

This is a common worry that clients have when starting therapy. We are all human-beings which means that none of us are perfect! As someone who has been in situations where I have felt judged myself, I strive to ensure my clients feel comfortable, respected, and listened to in our sessions together, and can assure you that I am not here to judge.

While I wish I had a magic secret to completely eliminating anxiety, this is not the case. Anxiety exists in our lives for a reason, as it is alerting our body’s flight/fight/freeze mode. While you may always experience some feelings of anxiety throughout your life, our therapy together will help reduce the impact it has on your day (and life!), and help you find new ways to move through the anxiety instead of getting “stuck” in it.
